Life is Precious
A couple of months ago there was an opinion draft leaked from the Supreme Court, it basically states the Court ruling will overturn the 1973 ruling on Roe vs Wade. Of course this launched an onslaught of differing opinions, that this is a direct attack on women health, or that abortion will be against the law across the Country. Neither of those previous statements are true. All this ruling will do is put the decision’s on abortion laws back in the hands of the state. The other side of this, is the whole thought of the leak, never in my lifetime have I ever heard of such a thing happening before a ruling being issued, and this should be cause for alarm with every American citizen across this land, but that is a whole other subject, let’s just pray they find who or whom and they are charged appropriately.
What is most important, is that we must understand this is bigger than our opinions, really, it comes down to who has the right to destroy life? Should that be in the hands of a woman or man? Well, we can find the answer in scripture, God’s Word, what does God, our Creator have to say about life and who it belongs too? If you go back to the beginning, in Genesis, Scripture states “So God created man in his own image, he created him in the image if God, he created them male and female.”(Genesis 1:27), so as you see according to the scripture, God is the creator, the author of life. It goes deeper than just life being created, in Jeremiah God calls Jeremiah and shares with him that he was chosen before he was even formed in his mothers womb(Jeremiah 1:5), then in Psalms 139, David states to God, “For it was You who created my inward parts, You knit me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13). Both of these verses and there are others, states 2 things, 1. Life begins in the womb and 2. God molded, created, formed, and knows every child in the womb, and even knows the child before being created in the womb. WOW! How do we comprehend that? Well, to me its just one of those mysteries of our God that are not meant for us to understand, it’s part of why He is God!
As our nation stands by and awaits the final ruling on the Mississippi abortion law, on whether it will be upheld and what affect it has on Roe vs Wade from 1973, we need to be in prayer and in scripture seeking God our Father for the ruling He wants to serve His purpose. If you are on the fence about abortion, I really encourage you to search out the scriptures and seek the truth over who has the right in any circumstance to end a life. God really does love you, and God is passionate about you, this is why He is so patient with us(2 Peter 3:9), God wants every person to be saved, but its a choice that each one of us has to make, God will not force Himself on you. I mean if He did would that not make Him just a dictator? We have to understand that we are born evil, our hearts have evil desires and our God(Creator) is pure and perfect and can not allow sin around Him, and this is why He would not spare His own son Jesus. Jesus came lived and took your sins, my sins, everyones sins, to the cross where He died for those sins, but Glory to God it did not end there, on the 3rd day Jesus rose from the grave, along with Him the keys and chains to hell, sin, and death. Put your faith in Jesus today, become a new creation through Jesus Christ. Jesus wants you right where you are at! Celebrate today the author, creator, molder, giver of life, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Choose Life, Choose Jesus!
