Revisioned

“We exist to glorify God by building mature Christians in the faith and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ so that all are complete in him”

What does that look like? A few years ago when a group of us church leaders sat down and put that vision statement together, it was stated with great intentions, sadly enough we lost track of what that vision and mission was along the way. You see we as the church, and not just The Rock Church, have to come to a point in life and make a decision that we are either going to listen to the command from Jesus the chief High Priest, when he said go and preach the gospel to all creation, and go and make disciples of all nations (Mark 16:15,Matthew 28:19) or we are not and continue to sit back in our comfort zone and watch the world waste away.

In 2021 The Rock Church went through some changes, one of them which is very important is our God has revisioned us. Today I am pleased to say that when we say we exist to Glorify God, we do! In all our ministries the intent is to give God all praise and glory that He deserves because this church and none of these ministries would exist if it were not for our mighty God. So we proclaim just as David did from Psalm 146:1-2 “Hallelujah! My soul, praise the Lord. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I live.”

In our mission statement we make the claim that we are building mature christians through faith and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, this is why The Rock Church is committed to the training and teachings of Jesus, where he taught and trained with compassion, Jesus was passionate about the lost, hurting, the rejected, the outcast, and those who do not fill worthy. Jesus made sure that He met them right where they were in life, He did not instruct them to go and clean up and come back, Jesus did the cleaning. Jesus’ blood that He spilled on the cross washes and cleanses you. Once you accept and receive that free gift, what is next? We are committed to teaming up new believers and those that have recommitted to Christ with an accountability partner.

This person will follow up, pray with them, and be there for them as a brother or sister in Christ. One of the biggest problems in the church throughout America is we are so eager to praise our numbers in how many we had saved or recommitted that we forget when they walk back out the door satan and his demonic forces are going to pounce on them,(John 10:10) we have to do better and we will. The Rock Church is committed in training and teaching new followers of Christ to be ready to go in to this world where they themselves will become a disciple of Jesus Christ. When we come together as a community of believers we are the body of Christ, then we are complete in Christ.

2022 is going to be a great year for The Rock Church, God is equipping the people in the church to have a great impact in our community and beyond and we will do it by being filled with the Holy Spirit, going in to the community to be the hands and feet of Jesus and our desire to draw closer to the Great and Mighty Yahweh.

As we begin the 21 days of fasting on Monday morning at Sunrise, I will be praying for each and everyone of that the Lord will strengthen you and guide each and everyday. I am so happy and thrilled to call The Rock Church my home. Be blessed Rock Church and have a great week!!
